The Charity Compliance Engine
AI-supported governance advisory, built for Scottish charities.
The problem
The problem it solves
Scottish charities face a growing burden of regulatory obligation. OSCR reporting, trustee duties, GDPR, safeguarding, employment law, Gift Aid. The list is long, the guidance is scattered, and most small charities have no dedicated compliance resource. Trustees carry the responsibility. The consequences of getting it wrong are real.
Most charities either over-rely on generic templates that do not reflect their actual circumstances, or simply do not know where the gaps are.
The solution
What the Charity Compliance Engine does
The CCE is an AI advisory system that takes a detailed profile of your charity and generates proportionate, jurisdiction-specific compliance guidance across six governance areas. It explains why each obligation exists, calibrates to your charity’s actual size, activities and circumstances, and produces a structured session record your board can use.
It is not a chatbot. It does not give generic answers. Every response is anchored in the specific profile of the charity in front of it, informed by direct experience of working with Scottish charities as a trustee and adviser, and grounded in the adviser-led model that Stuart Gilliland has applied across financial services and the charity sector for over three decades.
Six areas covered
Governance and trustee duties
People and safeguarding (PVG, DBS, HR policies)
Finance and accounting (SORP, audit, Gift Aid)
Data protection and GDPR
Operations, health and safety, food safety
Funding, contracts and legal obligations
The engine operates within a defined scope of 29 Acts of Scottish and UK law. It never fabricates legislation or references statutes outside this framework.
Currently in pilot
The CCE is in active pilot with Scottish charities. Early access sessions are available at no cost. Full compliance session, draft policy documents, branded PDF session record and Word exports, all included.
